The Waterloo Ice House is a great place to go on Sunday. You can have a great breakfast/lunch at a moderate price. My husband and I enjoy the 6th. and Lamar Blvd. location since it’s only a few minutes from our home. Parking is usually good as long as you get there by noon.
We have had lunch at the Waterloo Ice House several times but find the food not to be so great. We do, however, enjoy their breakfast items. I usually order the Hill Country Breakfast or the Waterloo Migas. If I order the migas I always get a side of hash browns which are the best in Austin (crispy not soggy). My husband enjoys the blueberry pancakes and scrambled eggs. The atmosphere is very casual and the service is good.
If your looking for a good, fast meal at a moderate price, Waterloo is the place for you. You can get 2 meals and 2 cups of coffe with tip for $25.00 making it a very affordable choice.
